On 02 MAY  2026, Climate YES Tanzania convened its National Members Meeting and Youth Advocacy Dialogue in Dar es Salaam. The gathering brought together Climate YES Tanzania members from different regions of the country to strengthen their unity, deepen their understanding of climate justice, and enhance their advocacy skills for collective action. Although the event had initially planned to include university students, the convening was successfully held with Climate YES members, providing a valuable opportunity for internal reflection, learning, and strategic planning.

The meeting focused on strengthening the movement’s collective identity while equipping members with practical knowledge and skills to become more effective climate advocates. Through interactive presentations, group discussions, and peer learning sessions, participants explored climate justice in the Tanzanian context, discussed the impacts of climate change on communities, and reflected on the important role that young people and faith-based organisations can play in influencing environmental policies and promoting sustainable development.

One of the key highlights of the convening was the collaborative development of shared advocacy priorities and messages. Participants identified common climate justice concerns affecting communities across Tanzania and agreed on coordinated approaches for future advocacy initiatives. The discussions also emphasised the importance of building a stronger national network capable of engaging policymakers, local communities, and development partners with one unified voice. The convening further provided an opportunity for members to discuss the long-term sustainability of Climate YES Tanzania.
