Climate YES members from Lesotho, Botswana, Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and South Africa—attended the 2nd All Africa Youth Congress (AAYC) in Nairobi, held from October 31 to November 5, 2025. Aligned with the theme “Africa: My Home. My Future,” these young leaders of faith amplified urgent calls for climate justice, integrating environmental care directly into pan-African development and ethical leadership dialogues.

Throughout the summit, Climate YES advocates challenged the continent’s dependency models, promoting grassroots transformation through the lens of eco-stewardship and Ubuntu. Delegates actively championed circular economy principles—specifically urging youth to refuse, reuse, and recycle—while highlighting sustainable local innovations like Ugandan apiculture as paths toward self-reliance. Grounded in a divine view of creation care, speakers urged African youth to fix and develop their home continent rather than fleeing through irregular migration.
The congress yielded powerful expansion opportunities for Climate YES, sparking immediate interest from youth leaders looking to launch new organizational hubs in Nigeria and Togo. Looking ahead to 2026, the network finalized plans for an East African physical summit and confirmed youth delegation attendance at the upcoming UNEA7.
