Climate YES proudly joined the Rising Tide Climate Justice Festival Week in Manchester, from September 22 to 29, 2024. This event brought together young Christian climate activists globally, all committed to environmental stewardship and justice. Our goal was to hold world leaders accountable for their COP26 promises and highlight the vital link between faith and climate action.

Key Festival Highlights

The festival kicked off on September 22 at the Diocese of Manchester, setting the stage for a week of activities across Manchester and Hulme. Throughout the week, interactive workshops promoted faith-informed education, including a notable session at Trinity High School on September 26 that fostered intergenerational dialogue.

The festival wrapped up on September 29 with the inspiring “Cathedral of Nature” celebration at Hulme Park, featuring theatre, music, and creative activities, leaving attendees with hope and purpose.

Planting 150 Trees!

Beyond the festival, Climate YES celebrated a major milestone on October 26, 2024. Partnering with the City of Trees, we planted over 150 trees in Bolton, marking the start of our ambitious goal to plant 1,000 trees. Community members and council representatives joined in, establishing a sustainable model for local environmental stewardship.

The festival and our successful tree-planting efforts demonstrated Climate YES dedication to a sustainable world rooted in Christian values. We’re excited to continue inspiring future generations to be caretakers of creation.
